Over time, I've become a big fan of the @libreoffice "Grouped Bar Compact" toolbar: the most used symbols on top and space for the menu with the rest below (image taken from https://www.libreofficehelp.com/change-libreoffice-default-look-and-feel/). Gives me quick access to frequently used functions as well as to the more specific ones in the drop-down menus while still looking clean and uncluttered. I like!
